Hi, my name is Dan Wisniewski. I have a passion for woodworking and design. I have always liked building things from an early age. My grandpa was a carpenter, I learned woodworking techniques from him and helped my dad remodel a fixer-upper. I have always loved home renovation and making my house a home.
I make custom furniture and home decor. Pretty much anything that you can put in your house. As a mechanical engineer at a product design firm by trade I love the fusion of form and function. I strive to make high quality products that are both ascetically pleasing and mechanically sound. I have an unhealthy obsession with HGTV and Pintrest. I enjoy being creative and making things that are not out there yet with a modern rustic twist. Most of my products started with projects/problems I had around my house.
I am originally from Toledo, Ohio but have lived in Columbus for the past 12 years.
I started D & W Elements started in July of 2013. That is when my long time hobby became a business.
D & W Elements all started because I was searching everywhere to find a vanity for my
bathroom remodel and couldn't find anything I liked. So I decided to go to the store, buy some lumber and make my own. The canvases and posters came from my passion for making my house a home. I made the "Hello & Goodbye" to put in my entry hallway to welcome people to my house. They started by cutting out vinyl and spraying the canvases and now I am having them printed on the canvases and I stretch them myself.
I set up a workshop in my garage, which is fully furnished with all the saws and tools I need. I am a "dumpster diver" so most of my tools were found on Craigslist or garage sales. My workbenches and shelves I built and designed myself. I learned from my grandpa the meticulous details of woodworking and am sill learning new things every day. I am constantly striving to make new products that are aesthetically pleasing and functional that will look great in any home.
